Priority Care Pediatrics

Priority Care Pediatrics on North Oak provides a pediatric clinical experience for Northland Career Center students in practical nursing.

As part of the program, Priority Care Pediatrics allows one student each week to work and observe at the clinic. From January through June, they work with a staff LPN in the assessment and care of pediatric patients. This is an invaluable experience because it allows students to observe the routine of a physician’s office and develop an understanding of pediatric patient care.

This partnership began two years ago and has achieved a major success. The value is enhanced because of the relatively large size of Priority Care Pediatrics, which has nine physicians, extensive support and administrative staff. Nursing programs are always challenged to provide valuable learning experience for their students. The first-hand experience at Priority Care Pediatrics is among the finest in the region.
