Sports are a source of community pride throughout the Northland, and they provide a disciplined, competitive outlet for physical talents and agility. High school athletics also serve as a potential source of scholarship funds for many participants and include tennis, golf, track, baseball, softball, soccer, cross country, swimming, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and football among others. Northland schools proudly decorate their hallways with state, regional and district championship banners and trophies representing the "best of the best" in athletic competition.
